A lot of my Readers (all right, just 4 of them) have written to me and asked me to not kick Stan off the blog. And one of my Readers said he’d be glad to Stan go. He wrote,”He is imaginary. You should just be able to get rid of him.”
STAN: Yeah? Give me his that man’s. Where does he live? Why I oughta…
HARRIETT: Now, Stan, you can get can more bees with honey.
STAN: Harriett, that is the dumbest thing you ever said. Who wants bees? I don’t want any bees.
I know Stan is imaginary, but it’s still not that easy to get rid of him. You think Alice could just ignore the Mad Hatter? Or Edgar Allen Poe could just forget about the cocaine-induced spirits who haunted his soul? Or Charlie Sheen could ignore Charlie Sheen? Wish it were that easy.
But I’m getting off track.
STAN: Nothing new about that.
Today’s blog introduces a new feature, I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends. From time to time (and this is one of those times), some talented people I know in all walks of life (Really. What the Hell are Walks of Life?) will drop off a guest blog post or two. Today’s blog features Ely Yublosky, a TV fan-atic who writes about the finale of the Sci Fi show, V. (I always thought it was called Five, but then again, I once saw a movie called Malcolm 10.)

Creative Copywriter Gets By With A Little Help From My Friends: Ely Yublosky on the V Finale
There are TV programs out there that can do a multitude of things through a season. They can pull a fast one you never saw coming. Or make you anxious for the next episode when the hour is over. Or draw out a plot line when you wish something would happen.
I personally like to be on the edge of my seat watching a show so it keeps me coming back for more. To show interest and understanding for the characters. For the show V, which just ended the season on Tuesday, I was surprised by the ending.
If you have not watched any of this or last season, V is about aliens or Visitors who come to Earth in peace, and for some of Earth’s resources. To show they’re peaceful, the Vs reciprocate by giving Earth some of their advanced medical technology. But like any plot for a TV show or movie, the Vs are not what they seem to be.
Vs may look like you and me, but really Vs are two-legged creatures with fang-like teeth and a snake like tail. The Vs look like us because they put on human skin. Since the season started last year, there has been a main battle between the Vs leader, Anna, and the main character, FBI agent Erica Evans.
Since day one, Erica realized Anna and the Vs are not what they seem to be. Erica has gotten help from other non-believers on Earth and an organization called the Fifth Column who believe in saving humans from the Vs. The Fifth column is comprised of some sleeper Vs that have lived on Earth for a while. Throughout Season Two, I was rooting for Erica as she uncovered the Vs’ secrets and tried to stop Anna’s plans.
Yet at the same time, Season Two was a little boring because Erica was just finding out new knowledge about Anna and the Vs. Erica would lead attacks, but always got foiled at some point. This season was not as exciting as the Season One, but when this year’s season finale hit, it brought all that excitement back to me.
The fight is between the Vs and Fifth Column supporters to see who will survive. Will Erica actually succeed in helping to save humans? What does Anna really want here? I am psyched up for the next season. Get here already!
